Chalerm Rattanakosin National Park
The park , also called Tham Than Lod by locals, was set up in 1980 in Kanchanaburi province. The area is of limestone formation and the highest peak in the park being Khao Kamphaeng at 1260 meters. Tropical broad leafed evergreen forest dominates the areas. The park may have small population of mammals such as elephants, black bears, gibbons, deer, guars, etc. Some believe that a few of the big cats may still exist in the areas. There are very spectacular caves and waterfalls in the park.

Erawan National Park
Erawan , established in 1975, is set between Kwai Yai and Kwai Noi rivers in Kanchanaburi province. The area includes mountains, cliffs, waterfalls and caves. The most popular among locals is the many tiered Erawan Waterfall.

Kaeng Krachan National Park
Covering over 3000 square kilometers in the Thailand's north western peninsula bordering Myanmar on the west, Kaen Krachan was established in 1981. Located in Phetchaburi province , it comprises a large mountainous area of virgin evergreen forest which serves as a watershed for the Phetchaburi and Pranburi rivers. Wildlife is abundant and so far over 300 birds species and 40 plus mammals are recorded. The highest point , at 1207 meters above sea level, is Khao Pa Neum Thung mountain. Toh Tip waterfall which courses down 18 tiers is a famous place. There are several caves with impressive stalactites and stalagmites.

Khao Laem National Park
Establish in 1991 Khao Laem is located in the Kanchanaburi province close to the Thai-Myanmar border. Click here to see details and photos.

Khao Sam Lan National Park
This park is located in Saraburi province and was established in 1981. The park consists of low hills with seasonal waterfalls, streams and caves which attract many Bangkok residents on weekends. There are more than 80 species of birds found in this area. A superb view of the surrounding vast plain can be had from the 312 meter high Khao Song Klong, the park's highest. Red mountain shrine is also an interesting place.

Khao Sam Rai Yot National Park
The park, established in 1966, is located in Prachuab Khiri Khan province of Thailand's southern peninsula. Limestone hills plunging into the Gulf of Thailand, caves, streams, and fine beaches are highlights of Khao Sam Rai Yot , meaning mountain of three hundred peaks in Thai. There are hiking trails and sports for bird watchers.

Pang Sida National Park
Established in 1982, Pang Sida is located in Prachinburi and Sa Kaew provinces in the central eastern Thailand. Waterfalls such as Pang Sida and Nam Ton are centerpieces of the park. The park is hilly and rich in wildlife, and a few freshwater crocodiles are believed to be surviving in the area. Over 200 species of birds are recorded.

Sai York National Park
Sai York is established in 1980 in the area of river Kwai Noi in Kanchanaburi province. The 500 square kilometers park has great forest, waterfalls and caves. The most popular spot for the locals is Sai York Waterfall itself on the bank of the Kwai Noi river. The park's highest peak, Khao Khewa, is 1327 meters above sea level.

Sri Nakarin National Park
Occupying more than 1500 square kilometers in size, Sri Nakarin is established in Kanchanaburi province in 1981. The multi tiered Huai Kamin Waterfall and the Sri Nakarin Reservoir are the most popular attractions. Some mammals may live among the limestone hills.

Thap Lan National Park
Covering more than 2200 square kilometers in Prachinburi and Nakohn Ratchasima provinces in the central eastern Thailand, Thap Lan , established in 1981, still has a healthy dense evergreen forest of at least 1000 square kilometers. The highest point , Khao Lamung, is 940 meters above sea level. There are evidences of mammals such as tigers, elephants, bears, sambers, guars, barking deer's, cats and wild pigs. Gibbons have been heard and some hornbills seen.

Khao Chamo-Khao Wong National Park
The park covering over 84 square kilometers was established in 1975 in Rayong and Chanthaburi provinces. Tropical evergreen broad-leaved forest dominates the area from lowland to 100 meters. Some wild animals such as sambar, barking deer, gaur, tiger, elephant and Asiatic black bear have been found. More than 53 species of birds are confirmed to be found in the park. Highlights of the park are Khao Chamo waterfall and 1028 meter Khao Chamo peak.

Khao Khitchakut National Park
Established in 1977 in Chanthaburi province of eastern Thailand, the park covers about 60 square kilometers. Local name is " Khao Phra Bat ". Confirmed to exist are 53 bird species. The topography is mountainous with low lying plateaus in the east. Foot prints of the Lord Buddha are found on top of Khitchakut mountain drawing tens of  thousands of pilgrims every year. From the mountaintop one can have excellent view over the bay of Thailand. Another tourist attraction is 13 tiered Krathing waterfall.

Khao Laem Ya-Koh Samet National Park
Located in the Rayong province the park, consisting of Khao Laem Ya mountain on the main land and the Koh Samet island plus several other small islands of limestone, was established in 1981. Koh Samet is of 6 km long and 3 km wide in size and now have lot of guesthouses and resorts operating on it. Some outer islands have secluded beaches and interesting reef formations.

Koh Chang National Park
This park, located in Trat province of eastern Thailand bordering with Laos, was established in 1982 and consists of several fine islands. Please click here to see details and photos.

Namtok Phliu National Park
135 square kilometers park was established in 1975. Located in Chanthaburi province, the park is famous for its Phliu Waterfall. The evergreen forests are the habitat of two endangered pheasant species. The famous fruit orchards of Chanthaburi are fed by the watershed of the park area.

Aob Luang National Park
Located in Chiang Mai province of northern Thailand, Aoh Lunag was established in 1991, and it covers over 550 square kilometers. The park has a beautiful gorge on the Mae Chaem river running through it. This is a very amazing scene and draws lot of nature lovers. The place was once a dwelling place of prehistoric people, and their artifacts have been found.

Doi Inthanon National Park
Doi Inthanon, the Thailand's highest peak at 2565 meters, and the surrounding areas covering more than 270 square kilometers was declared as a national park in 1972. Now the park area was then extended to more than 480 square kilometers. The park consists of high mountain rages serving as a major watershed for Ping river, northern Thailand's bloodline. More than 65 species of mammals are said to be surviving in the park. Doi Inthanon is a superb bird watching place also. There are several beautiful hiking trails and waterfalls.

Huai Nam Dam National Park
Located in Chiang Mai province in the north , Huai Nam Dam consists of a number of spectacular natural beauties and a very significant water catchment capacity of the high country. Among the park's attractions are Doi Kew Lom view point, Mae Yen waterfall, and Mae Tang Rafting route.

Khlong Lan National Park
Khlong Lan , located in Kamphaeng Phet province, was established in 1982. About 60% of the 300 plus square kilometers park is covered with tropical broad leaved evergreen forests. The highest peak is Khao Khun Khlong Lan at 1439 meters. Several mammals species and more than 68 bird species are confirmed existing in the area. Waterfalls, gorges and rapidly following streams are popular attractions. The main point is the Khlong Lan Waterfall.

Mae Wong National Park
This 900 square kilometers park located in Kamphaeng Phet and Nakhon Sawan provinces was established in 1987. The park is mountainous with peaks higher than 2000 meters and many hills above 1200 meters. It is rich in water resources and hardwood forest. It is believed to have mammals such as elephant, tiger, wild pigs, guar, deer, gibbon and many bird species. There are many fine waterfalls in the area.

Namtok Mae Surin National Park
Namtok Mae Surin was established in 1981 in Mae Hong Son province. It covers about 400 square kilometers having rugged highland mountains which serve as the watershed for the Pai river. The highest peak, Doi Pui, is 1752 meters above sea level. Namtok Mae Surin Waterfall is said to be the Thailand's highest fall. Cold weather trees and the scenic landscape with highland beauty attract visitors.

Phu Soi Dao National Park
Located in Uttaradit province of northern Thailand, Phu Soi Dao is bordering with Laos in the north. It has a very splendid pine forest and mountains. Click here to see more details.

Ramkhamhaeng National Park
The park, also known as Khao Luang by many local people, is located in Sukothai province and covers 341 sq.km. Ramkhamhaeng National Park was established in 1980 with the name of one of the Thailand's great Kings. The park is set within the contours of Khao Luang mountain range surrounded by low farmlands. The waters of this Khao Luang mountains are essential to the agricultural regions below, and also the source of the rivers "Yom" and "Ping".

Notable geographic features of the park are the four mountain peaks: "Khao Phu Ka" and "Khao Phra Mae Ya" at about 1200 meters, and "Khao Jedi", "Pha Na Rai". These 4 peaks are connected by a network of trails on the highland. The highland of the park is reached by hiking a 4km trail from the park's headquarters.

Evergreen forest, mixed deviduous forest and savannah are found in the park. There are a number of wild animals and birds believed to exisit in this area, which include banteng, barking deer, black bear, wild pig, monkey, gibbon, serow, squirrel, and many species of resident and migratory birds.

The park's interesting places include waterfalls and caves too. The visit to the park should be combined with a tour to the 13th century ancient Sukothai Historical Park nearby. Sukothai is believed to be the first capital of Thailand ( 13th to 14th century ).

Sa La Win National Park
Sa La Win is the Thai name for the river Salween, or Thanlwin in Myanmar, flowing from China, passing through Myanmar's Shan state and serves as a border line between Myanmar and Thailand for nearly 150 kilometers. The park is located in Mae Hong Son province, and it contains scenic natural beauties such as boulders, sandy banks, steep canyons, etc.

Thung Salaeng Luang National Park
Thung Salaeng Lung was established in Phitsanulok and Phetchabun provinces of northern Thailand in 1972 covering an area of 1262 square kilometers. The park has abundant grassland and evergreen forest, pine forest and mixed deciduous forest. Limestone hills are between 200 to 1028 meters in attitude. Some mammal species and more than 190 birds live in this area.

Nam Nao National Park
Established in 1972 in Phetchabun and Chaiyaphum provinces, the park covers more than 960 square kilometers. This park has a considerable range of wildlife and lovely pine forests. Click here to see more details.

Phu Chong Nayoi National Park
Covering more than 680 square kilometers in Thailand's north eastern province of Ubon Ratchathani, Phu Chong Nayoi was established in 1987. From the Pha Phung view point one can have a lovely scene bordering Laos and Cambodia. Bak Tew Yai waterfall and Phlan Yaw rock garden are other attractions.

Phu Kradung National Park
Phu Kradung was established in the Loei province in 1962 covering more than 340 square kilometers. The Phu Kradung mountain crowned by 60 square kilometers of meadows, pines and wild flowers is one of Thailand's most romantic spot. Click here to see more.

Phu Phan National Park
Covering more than 660 square kilometers in Kalasin and Sakon Nakhon provinces of north eastern Thailand, Phu Phan was established in 1972. The park as some scenic waterfalls and gorges. Precha waterfall and a natural rock bridge 8 meters long linking two rocky outcrops are worth visiting. There is a cave where free Thai movement hid its weapons while fighting the Japanese in world war II.

Phu Rua National Park
A magical peak and dramatic rock formations decked by mountain flora are highlights of Phu Rua national park located in Loei province. The park covers 121 square kilometers and was established in 1978. Click here to know more.

Sai Thong
Established in 1992, Sai Thong covers more than 300 square kilometers in Chaiyaphum province. Visitors are attracted to several caves and waterfalls. There is a rest area called Suan Sawan , or Paradise Garden, containing rocks, small plants, wild flowers and meadows. The highest peak is the park rises to 1008 meters. Some small mammals and small deer species are found.

Tat Ton National Park
Best known for its Tat Ton Waterfall, the park was established in 1980 in Chaiyaphum province. Park area covers more than 200 square kilometers and consists of several waterfalls and cliffs.

Kang Krung National Park
Located in Surat Thani province of southern Thailand, Kang Krung was established in 1991 covering 541 square kilometers. Two parallel ranges of hills, the highest rising to 850 meters, run through the park which feature numerous waterfalls. Popular is Khlong Yan, a 70 kilometers long stream lined with tall trees which flows through a scenic landscape.

Khao Luang National Park
Khao Luang is located in Nakhon Sri Thammarat province of southern Thailand, and was established in 1974. Khao Luang mountain, at 1835 meters above sea level, is the highest in southern region. Please click here to know more.

Khao Pu-Khao Ya National Park
The moist evergreen rain forest of Khao Pu-Khao Ya, established in 1982, are located along the long mountain range stretching through Phatthalung, Trang and Nakhon Sri Thammarat provinces of southern Thailand. Ruen Thep Nimit cave, located in Pu mountain, is divided into large halls at different levels. Its limestone formation glitter like white gem. Nai Phud cave is 400 meters long and 100 meters wide. There are also the multi-tiered waterfalls such as Rian Thong  and the Khao Khram. Bird life is rich in this rain forest areas.

Khao Nam Khang National Park
The complex mountain range of Khao Nam Khang ( Nam Khang in Thai means dew ) extends into Malaysia. The climate at the top of Khao Nam Khang ( 649 meters above sea level ) is cool throughout the year. The park is located in Songkhla province , and was established in 1991. Attractions are three waterfalls and Muang Luk Nung, a large boulder which give the appearance of a mighty wall surrounding an ancient city. Of historical interest is Camp No. 8 of the now defunct Communist Party of Malaysia which carried out its insurgency from bases along Thai-Malaysian border.

Tai Rom Yen National Park
Tai Rom Yen was established in 1991 in Surat Thani province. It covers 425 square kilometers with limestone hills, stretches of rain forests, and waterfalls. Tah Fa , 10 tiered waterfall , is 100 meters high and the area is very spectacular.
