There are two main routes to reach Mae Hong Son from Chiang Mai: southern route of highway 108 via Mae SaRiang ( 349 km ) and northern route of highway 1095 via Pai ( 274 km ). Mae Hong Son province contains many hilltribe villages, mountains covered with healthy forest, river streams, Myanmar style temples, etc.
